After seeing the news of Notre Dame cathedral (our lady of Paris) burning I was curious to look into the deeper spiritual perspective of why this happened.
On 15 April 2019 at 18:30 local time, Notre Dame cathedral caught fire, causing the spire and the oak roof to collapse. Both towers avoided damage. The extent of the damage was initially unknown, as was the cause of the fire, though it was speculated it was linked to ongoing renovation work. According to French authorities, the cathedral barely escaped complete destruction, having been only “15 to 30 minutes” away from structural damage so severe it would likely have caused the building’s collapse.
This is not the first time Notre Dame has caught fire or been the centre of chaos.
The 800 year old sacred Temple of Jupiter built by the celts once stood where Notre Dame is. After that was destroyed, a basilica (Roman public building) was erected, then a 700 year old Romanesque cathedral, which was torn down to build the Gothic style Notre Dame.
Notre Dame, central to the heart of Paris is built over axes and a massive energetic ley-line. The East-West line from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe is a natural meridian. It’s marked by architecture, possibly even enhanced by it, but it is a natural energy phenomenon that forms part of the earth’s own energy grid.
I wanted to look at the birth chart of Notre Dame with the astrological transits 15 April 2019 to shed further light, unfortunately all I could find was the actual years of the cathedral being built. From construction beginning in 1163, Notre Dame is 856 years old, which completed in 1345.
Much like death and rebirth are cornerstones of the Christian religion that Notre Dame represents, death and rebirth are fundamental to Notre Dame itself.
Interesting facts…
Henry VI of England was made king of France inside Notre-Dame in 1431.
In 1909, Joan of Arc (sun and moon in Aquarius, mercury and venus in capricorn and mars in virgo), helped France battle the English. She was burned at the stake then beatified (blessed) in the cathedral by Pope Pius X. Born a peasant in a small French village, Joan of Arc heard divine voices and visions of St. Michael, St. Catherine of Alexandria and St. Margaret of Antioch from the age of 13. Their message to her: Help Charles VII, heir of Charles VI, be named the rightful king of France.
Convincing Charles to let her fight and dressed as a man, Joan led the liberation of Orleans, triumphed with other victories against the English, and soon Charles VII was crowned. But a series of missteps, including her failure to liberate Paris followed, and on May 23, 1430, she was captured by the Duke of Burgundy’s men, jailed for more than a year and put on trial for charges including heresy, witchcraft and violating divine law for dressing like a man.
The cathedral was also home of the crown of thorns which apparently made it safely out of the fire. The crown of thorns is believed to be the same that Jesus Christ wore during the crucifixion. It was first housed at the Ste. Chapelle in Ile de la Cité, but then moved to Notre Dame.
Countless women accused of being a witch have burnt at the stake in front of Notre-Dame. Including Joan of Arc (mentioned above).
The last Grand Master Jacques de Molay was the 23rd Grand Master of the Knights Templar whom attained great power and wealth. Out of the flames which lapped around him Molay’s voice was alleged to have been heard cursing King Philip and his family along with Pope Clement. As he experienced the agony of being burned alive Molay is said to have invoked a ‘curse’ calling to Christ to prove the Order’s innocence and bring its persecutors to the judgement of God. Thus the institution of the Order of the Knights Templar was destroyed, dying as it had been born and lived in blood, rage and Catholic piety.
Energetically the fire was at the start of Holy Week, whilst Jupiter (the planet of expansion) retrogrades in the fire sign of Sagittarius from 10 April to 11 August 2019 for four months. With Notre Dame built over the Temple of Jupiter this also comes to mind…
Jupiter rules Sagittarius. Philosophy, freedom, expansion. The big picture. Unless you’re hiding under a rock you’ll be forced to look at the larger picture of life, what brings forth freedom? The outdated values of the catholic religion are being burned to the ground. And out of the old comes the new.
From a numerology point of view, Notre Dame resonates to a 6-8-5 vibration which can inspire drama and chaos.
Interesting to consider: Interpretation of the Notre Dame fire in Paris by Anaiya Sophia
“By the time Notre-Dame is fully restored the Roman Catholic Church would have fallen into disrepair.
My overall feeling is that the Sacred Feminine that dwells in the land beneath Notre-Dame is erupting and surging through all that is false and contained. As she opens the path like a fiery phoenix, so the utter pristine purity of the True Kings shall arise. Birthed out of the flames of the Feminine. Only those who are brave enough to be incinerated by her act of destruction will arise as freshly newborn kings.
The Ile de la Cité (Island Notre-Dame sits on), is an ancient Pagan/Celtic sacred site that is in the throes of birthing itself. May Peace Prevail and May the Truth be known to all people.”
